Error message
For teacher X, you configured more lessons (22) than the maximum possible (20). Check the already configured lessons, or modify the unavailable period.
What causes the error
When configuring teachers, you can set limits such as maximum working days, maximum periods per day, and mark certain periods as unavailable.
Let’s consider the following example, based on an 8-period day:
- Maximum working days: 4
- Unavailable periods:
1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6 | 7 | 8 |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
X | X | X | |||||
X | X | X | |||||
X | X | X | |||||
X | X | X | |||||
X | X | X |
Although the day has 8 periods, the teacher is only available for 5 of them.
With a 4-day workweek, that gives a maximum of 5 × 4 = 20 available periods.
If the teacher is assigned 22 lessons, there’s not enough space in their schedule, and the error is triggered.
How to fix it
You have two options:
- Adjust the teacher’s constraints – Go to the teachers section, edit the teacher, and make sure their unavailable periods and limits allow for all assigned lessons.
- Reduce the number of lessons – If the configuration is correct, the teacher might have too many lessons. Go to the lessons section, review their schedule, and remove any excess lessons.
